Below hill Gírová there are mysterious "Devil´s Mills". It is a group of rocks with caves that are now filled in. According to legends brigands were hiding during the Jánošík period. In another period the rocks served to devils who intended to "grind" disobedient people here in their stone mills. Witches also regulary flew over here and perhaps even landed.

This is the largest complex of natural fir/beech forests of the Carpathian type in the Czechia. Here we can find a forest stands, small forest meadows, springs and rockeries. National Nature Reserve Mionší is home to about 110 species of vertebrates including 73 species of birds. The species wealth of mushrooms ranks it among the most important mycological localities in our country.
