Mionší primeval forest
This is the largest complex of natural fir/beech forests of the Carpathian type in the Czechia. Here we can find a forest stands, small forest meadows, springs and rockeries. National Nature Reserve Mionší is home to about 110 species of vertebrates including 73 species of birds. The species wealth of mushrooms ranks it among the most important mycological localities in our country.
The public now has the opportunity to look into the peripheral parts of the Mionší primeval forest thanks to Mionší educational trail created in 2005.
Mionší educational trail is designed as an approx. 7 km long circuit which has 10 stops with information panels. The goal is to enable visitors to see at least a part of the legendary Beskydy primeval forest while preserving its tranquility. That is why the trail is established as a seasonal one - it is accessible from 1st of June to 15th of September only with guide. It is intended for pedestrians only! Please note that entry to Mionší National Nature Reserve is not permitted outside of the trail route. Trail is marked with wooden arrows with a grouse emblem - only at the crossroads.
