Wisła
This picturesque town is located near the borders with the Czechia and Slovakia in southern Poland in the Cieszyn district.
The Polish town of Wisła has rightly earned the nickname "Pearl of the Beskydy". Thanks to its strategic location it becomes an ideal starting point for hiking trips.
In the valley of Polish river Wisła there is a town with approximately 11 000 inhabitants. The surrounding mountain slopes are covered with picturesque forests which make up to 75% of the area of this wonderful tourist location and are also ecologically valuable and protected. The highest ridge in this area is Beraní hora (1220 m above sea level) which often appears in local fairy tales and legends.
Wisła is known as a renowned center for hiking and winter sports offering a wide range of activities for everyone.
The entire area is interspersed with ski jumps while more than twenty kilometers of pistes are ideal for both beginners and advanced skiers. The city offers dozens of lifts and a network of ski and snowboard schools making skiing accessible to everyone. Wisła is also proud of its well-maintained cross-country trails which are a rarity in Poland. In spring and summer you can enjoy the beauty of mountains by bike or during hiking trips. The town and its surroundings offer well-marked hiking trails that take you to a picturesque dam surrounded by mountains and forests including Lake Czerniańskie.
Wisła also has a rich history and interesting monuments such as the wooden Church of Divine Protection from 1905 - 1907 where you can admire a painting depicting the meeting of Jesus with John the Baptist. Ustroń, Szczyrk or the three villages of Istebna-Koniaków-Jaworzynka are ideal for trips with family or friends.
